In the heat of battle, some members still forget about communication discipline. Especially in Arma2. I'm not even talking about the strict, conversation-based radio discipline, just about basics like proper contact reporting.
In order to finally improve this issue, we are going to make kinda quiz: someone posts a communication example "how-it-should-not-be-done". Task for everyone else is to post a proper version. First right answer gets a cake.
One example:
How it should not be done:
Quote
"I think I saw a contact running there, not sure. Mb not."
Help: approximate cardinal direction of the contact was south, app distance 250 meters, he was running towards west.
Proper version:
Quote
"Possible contact south 250 meters, running towards west."
See the difference between long blabla and precise, short information?
Ok, then here comes the first quiz task:
The fireteam was inside a building covering the outside area when suddenly a single short was fired at us. About 10 seconds later:
Quote
Aras: I see him!
Luis: Shoot him!
Aras: I see him!
Luis: Shoot that bastard!
Aras: I lost him.
Luis: Shoot him!
(The contact was south-east, about 100 meters away. RoE at this time were fire at will)
Now what would have been the proper communication?
