This will be a patrol operation of regular NATO infantry forces. See the pdf file in the attachement for a briefing preview (it’s not the whole briefing and details might be changed).

This event will be a live operation, i.e. the attempt to simulate a real operation as realistically as possible. That’s means I, as organisator, will create the map and a detailed briefing. Participating players will receive the briefing shortly before the operation starts and must then try to accomplish the mission to the best of their abilities at the first attempt. I’ll only observe the deployment and not take part directly.

Players who want to participate must sign up here. Simply write a reply that you will take part and also state up to 3 roles you would like to take. Possible roles are:
- squad or fire-team leader (members only)
- AR (Automatic Rifleman = MG)
- AAR (Assistant Automatic Rifleman)
- Medic
- Engineer
- Rifleman
Depending on the sign ups until the 30.04. I’ll create a final roster (and adjust the difficulty of the mission). Players who sign up later may only fill up empty slots.

Please make sure you really have time to play focused during the operation. Players who go afk every 10 minutes or leave before the operation ends, will seriously damage the fun for everyone. (When in doubt just write that you want to take part but are not sure about your time schedule yet. We’ll try to find a solution then.)

PS: after the debriefing of the operation we can keep on playing some “normal” rounds.

I will most likely be in.

I'm up for:
-SQL
-FTL
-AR

(I'd prefer to be in the BAF fireteam, if possible)

One question about that KSK observer: Is that going to be AI that we will always have to keep behind us?

No, even worse: it's gonna be me biggrin

As said above I want to observe the action. But (if I'm not mistaken) as spectator there is no way to listen to the radio traffic of ACRE. Therefore this in-game observer.

Sometimes (not always) when I get killed and muted on teamspeak, I can hear how people talk.

You can always hear that, unless they died after you did. Everyone that dies in the mission gets locally muted for everyone else that is still connected to the server (and has ACRE working; this is reset once as said player dies), even when said played is already dead. You can however, not hear what is via radio and what is not and other than the muting stuff you are back to regular TS3 without ACRE.

Also @Raptor: How about watching the mission as some sort of interpreter? That might make more sense in the context of peacekeeping patrols than the lone observer.

Hmm, but there is also no real task for an interpreter. I don't have much interaction with civilians in mind for this operation.

That is the point, you can spend the time watching but imo it would be realistic to have an intepreter on such mission. To have him doesn't always mean he is actually gonna be able to be employed somewhere.

Final Roster:
#1 Team Leader: Booone
#2 Engineer: SAS_Fluffy
#3 AR: Aras
#4 Medic: Luis (not 100% sure)
#5 Observer: Raptor

Time Schedule Saturday 04.05.2013 (all times UTC)
15:40
I’ll upload the map to the server and it will be possible for you to take
your reserved slots. You’ll receive the final briefing once you have
taken your slot.

16:00
In case someone is not there to take his slot, the position will be reassigned to players who are present.

16:05
Start of the operation. From here on it won’t be possible to join anymore.
The team will get 5 minutes in the briefing screen.

16:10
Spawn at the FOB. From here on I won't answer any further questions regarding the briefing and orders that you received.

18:00
Expected end of the operation (although that’s hard to estimate).
