There can be maximum 9 squads with 8 members in each in total. When you join a squad, squad leader tells what kit you have to take. And communication works pretty much like in arma2, because there IS a thing like ACRE in PR. PR has some kind of components from mumble... Basically, VOIP is integrated in the mod already. You can speak on local channel (3D speech effect, default key H) and on the radio. (here, radios are more user-friendly, than in ARMA). Since max number of squads is 9, squad leaders can communicate between each other by pressing correspondent key on their numpad. Communication among squad members via radio also exists (need to press 0 on numpad by default).

In rare occasions, mumble decides to crash or not work (I think, one or two maps dont have mumble yet support) and yes, then its annoying as hell. In that case, everyone gets on teamspeak. Those who dont are kicked out of a squad or server. However, those issues are dealt with one at a time with every new PR patch.

Does this Voip works in-game by default or do you need to join a mumble server?
